Pressed Glass Earrings - some of the many steps from start to finish. One of my latest designs! Fun earrings that I've made, simply put, by "pressing" a design into the glass and then filling in the detail with metallic glass paintLike many other makers and artists, I'm doing less selling and shipping at the moment. In my case this means more time for designing and finishing old projects. I've finally been able to make some progress on designs and experiments that I...

A new design project - Part 2

Once I was committed to a tall triangle shape with a mismatched colourblock design, it was time to test many different colour combinations. I cut the glass and glued the pieces onto a special kiln paper which separates the glass from the clay. This was one of the more satisfying tasks. I love how they look just as they are.   Faceted 💎‎Gem‎💎 Statement Pendants Step one in my latest glass casting project. I’m sure there are a ton better materials to use than clay but I started working glass via pottery making and am happy for any opportunity to work with it.   Next to the pottery wheel, my favourite clay activity is carving away at leather hard clay which solid but not yet dry. In this case, I’m just cleaning off some excess clay from the outside. This...

Experimenting with Copper Hearts

I recently organized my show box of glass pendant samples and experiments, gluing them onto cards for easy reference. (I've started many projects and I'd like to finish some of them!)   While doing this, I came across a heart pendant necklace sample that I'd made with Valentine's Day in mind but had set aside. I guess the thing about heart necklaces is that they are so perfect for that one time of the year that if I don't get them...
